The Brit Awards 2010 (Review) Dizzee Rascal, JLS & Cheryl Cole

I watched the Brit Awards 2010 on Tuesday night and wasn’t to impressed. Now I look back on it, I honestly think it was pretty darn good. It was obvious that the show had to keep to the ITV time schedule as the host Peter Kay, told all the presenters to hurry up each time he handed the mic over. He also called Liam Gallagher a “knobhead” live on air which I found hilarious. I think that was the only censorship mistake ITV made but I’m sure the have received a lot of complaints.

The show started with Lilly Allen’s nervous performance and then went strait into the Award ceremony. Dizzee Rascal jumped into the air once it was announced that he won British Male Solo Artist. After 6 Brit award nominations in previous years he finally got a trophy this year. He was also nominated for MasterCard British Album but that was won by Florence & The Machine, who later performed with him.

It was also a great night for boy band JLS as they took home 2 Awards, British Breakthrough Act and British Single. As he usually does when he gets excited, Aston managed to do a backflip when they received their first award. One of these days he will fall over like the afro ninja on youtube.

I think Cheryl Cole was the true star of the ceremony. With a huge dance squad behind her she managed to . She switched up the tempo in the middle of the performance, remixing the 1993 dance anthem Show Me Love with her hit single Fight for this Love. Her entrance to the show reminded my of Michael Jackson’s Dangerous tour in 1992, where he posed for a few minutes and the crowd went crazy. He performance was overshadows the next day by rumours of her marriage with Ashley Cole coming to an end.

Watch the full performance below and tell me what your thoughts are.
